If you are looking for a dry white wine with hints of lemongrass and almond, Soave is a great option. This Italian wine is produced in the county of Verona in the Veneto region, which is an ancient volcanic land. The grapes for Soave are grown in hillside vineyards that have a lower yield per hectare than those that are used for Valpolicella. As a result, Soave has a higher alcohol content than Valpolicella.
Soave, a Delightful Light to Medium Bodied Italian Wine
Soave is a sweet raisin wine and is produced using a process called saigné. Grapes used for this wine are hand-picked and dried, which concentrates the sugars and aromatic substances inside. This slow-fermenting process stops before the grapes are completely converted to alcohol. Because the Soave grapes contain high levels of minerals, acids, and polyphenols, this Italian white wine is pleasantly sweet, with a pronounced fruitiness.
Generally, Soave is light to medium-bodied, with a pleasant aroma and flavour. Mass-produced versions can have a slightly bitter flavour. But in recent years, producers have pushed for lighter Soave wines that show melon and citrus notes. These lighter wines are perfect for summer salads, pasta dishes, and light desserts. The taste is so distinctive that you'll probably never want to drink it with any other food! Enjoy a bottle with Wine Cart.
