In order to understand the origin of wine it is necessary to know the characterisitic of the plant from which it derives: the grape. Its name has its root in Latin “vite” which in its turn derives from Indo-European leanguage “viere” which means to bend, to interlace. This plant has been present for million years on the temperate zone of the planet. Some thousand years only Man has started to produce wine. Our lands have been involved into the precious grape-juice squeezing since the Roman century up our time passing through the Venetian doge’s cellars. Today together with the remaining National production, sees Italy as the first viticultural Country all over the world.
