Querceto Di Castellina Chianti Classico 'L'Aura' 2020 D.O.C.G 2021
AWARDS
Cloudy on the nose offering notes of crushed blue fruits such as blueberries and blackberries but also dried black prunes. In the background burnt wood, incense and helichrysum. Medium to full bodied on the palate, creamy tannins and a lively, modern finale. Drink now or hold.

Named after the matriarch of the estate, Laura Di Battista, the 2021 Chianti Classico L'Aura is attractive and expressive on opening. Composed entirely of Sangiovese raised in French oak for 12 months, it is floral with a perfume of ripe red cherry, fresh rose petal, and well-integrated oak spices of vanilla and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and an angular edge of acidity, the palate is quaffable and forward with orange citrus, dusty earth, and dried herbs. Drink 2023-2030.
